AQUATICS

Tri-Swim
Training for a triathlon? Do you need to improve your technique and endurance? This class offers organized workouts that will help your swimming skills while building your endurance and efficiency. Click here for schedule: Adult1 1.09

Adult Swim Lessons
This class is designed for beginner and intermediate levels. Class skills emphasize stroke development and endurance. No previous swimming experience is necessary. Adult1 1.09

Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are available in a package of five 30-minute lessons. Adult1 1.09

WIMPS
The Western Illinois Masters Program Swimmers Club is for adults (19 and over) of all levels for the purpose of training, competition, fitness and the enjoyment of swimming. No charge for YMCA members to participate! Adult1 1.09

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course
American Red Cross Lifeguard instructors teach skill and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course prepares participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries. Participants must be 15 years or older and pass a swimming pre-test. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPRPro Certifications. Adult1 1.09

AQUATIC THERAPY

Multiple Sclerosis Aquatic Exercise
This water exercise class was developed by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of participants. Trained instructors lead activities designed to maximize muscle strength and endurance, reduce spasticity, improve flexibility, prevent muscle atrophy, aid weight control and provide a positive social experience. Participants in need of assistance dressing, transferring to the lift, or in the pool should bring their own helper (no fee for helper). Adult1 1.09

Fibromyalgia Aquatic Exercise
A deep-water exercise class for persons with Fibromyalgia. Gentle flexibility and strength exercises are done along with low intensity aerobic intervals. Participants must be comfortable in deep water and provide their own flotation belt. Adult1 1.09

Slow & Easy (Arthritis Foundation Program)
Low-impact exercises designed for people with limited joint motion, strength or cardio-respiratory function. Adult1 1.09

AQUATIC WELLNESS

Join our nationally recognized water fitness team for fun and exercise in the pools. Water exercise reduces stress on the joints, strengthens and tones muscles, reduces muscle soreness, enhances circulation, and promotes flexibility. Swimming skills are not required. Classes are open to adults and youth ages 14 and up. Flotation belts for deep water classes may be purchased at the North Entrance.

Ai Chi
The focus is on spirit, mind and body with flowing exercise and relaxation, Ai Chi uses a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements of arms, legs, and torso. The results are improved range of motion and overall mobility, increased metabolism and caloric consumption, deep relaxation and decreased stress and insomnia. Adult1 1.09

Deep Water Exercise
A no-impact workout in deep water using flotation belts and other equipment. The balanced workout includes warm-up, aerobic, cool-down, strength and toning, and flexibility stretching. Intensity is easily adjusted for all levels of fitness. Participants must be comfortable in deep water and provide their own flotation belt. Adult1 1.09

High-Energy Water Workout
This is a complete water fitness class using a variety of exercises and equipment. Activities include dance, calisthenics, walking and kicking. Intensity and impact can be varied on an individual basis. Each class consists of warm-up, aerobic, cool-down, muscle toning and flexibility segments. Adult1 1.09

Yoqua
Submerge yourself in the comfort of the warm pool and experience the integration of water with the ancient science of yoga. Modified dynamic and static yoga postures in the pool enhance balance, structural alignment, and muscle flexibility. Adult1 1.09

Water Walk (All fitness levels welcome)
A no-bounce fitness class in shallow water for persons with limited joint motion or those who can’t tolerate impact. Exercises improve flexibility, strength, endurance and cardiorespiratory function. Adult1 1.09

Water Boot Camp
Challenge yourself with a tough aquatic workout made-up entirely of cardio, strength and core training drills. Fast paced 30-minute class takes place in te shallow end of the cool pool and will push you to a new level. Are you ready for the challenge? Adult1 1.09

SPORTS

Recreational Volleyball
Open to all YMCA Members and guests. Players may drop in for games, but eight players must be present to close the gym.

League Volleyball
Try out our newest adult league! Teams will play 6 on 6 regulation volleyball. Scores and records will be kept and an end of the season tournament will determine the best team.

Tae Kwon Do
A martial art that has no equal in the field for power or technique, it’s the “Art of Kicking and Punching.” The program offers self-confidence, self-discipline, self- defence and physical fitness for children and adults. Adult1 1.09

League Basketball
Join our 4 on 4 league that emphasizes fitness and fun. Scores and records will be kept. You can form your own team or the YMCA will find you one.

Racquetball Open Play
Call the Reservation Hotline at 797-5950 for court reservations. Only YMCA members may reserve courts - one hour per day. Court reservations may be made up to seven days in advance. Cancellations must be made at least two hours before scheduled play. The YMCA reserves the right to reassign any unclaimed
court 5 minutes after reservation time.

Racquetball Leagues & Lessons
League play is offered at every level: Open, A, B, C and Doubles. Twelve weeks beginning January 15th. Private lessons are available by appointment.

Y Golf Development Center
Public Driving Range and First Tee Facility at 2110 53rd Street, Moline. A 10-Bucket Punch Pass is available at the Two Rivers YMCA front desk for $45 members, $55 community. Bring in 8 receipts and get a free large bucket of balls. Members receive $1 off stated bucket prices. Gift certificates available.

WELLNESS/FITNESS

Take the “FirStep” to better health!
Our 10-week FirStep Wellness Program will get you started on your way to a healthier lifestyle. You will meet with a Wellness Coach to discuss important aspects of your lifestyle, daily schedule and fitness goals. Your coach will help you to determine which of the FirStep Wellness Program tracks (listed below) is best for you, and will assist you throughout the program to help you achieve your goals. The FirStep Wellness Program is free with your annual YMCA membership.

FirStep Track 1: for those just getting started or getting started again
Recommended for the soon-to-be-exerciser who needs a thorough review of fitness and wants a coach for direction and motivation. You will gain knowledge about how food fuels the body and how exercise affects metabolic rate. Program includes an initial orientation meeting and three follow-up meetings with a Wellness Coach over the 10-week period. You will receive ongoing support and communication from your Wellness Coach.

FirStep Track 2: for those wanting a simple program on easy-to-use equipment
Great for those who don’t desire as much coaching but would like help in starting a simple program on easy to use equipment. Includes an initial orientation meeting and one follow-up meeting with a Wellness Coach over a 10-week period. You will receive ongoing support and communication from your Wellness Coach.

FasTrack Orientation: for those comfortable in a fitness facility
This track is for individuals who are comfortable with a fitness facility, but need to learn how to use the Y’s equipment. Includes an initial 90-minute meeting with your Wellness Coach with ongoing communication.

Personal Training (additional fee required)
Personal training is available for all fitness levels and abilities.

Interval Cardio Circuit Training (ICCT)
Experience the program that allows you to increase lean muscle and lose weight in the least amount of time. Why spend hours doing cardio when Interval training can blast the time in half and give you great results. Classes are 30 minutes total with a 3-5 minute warm-up a 20-25 minute intensity section and a 5-8 minute cool down. You may never do cardio the same way again. Adult2 1.09

T.R.Y. (Two Rivers YMCA) Commit to Wellness
Join our 10 week program and experience the Y’s way to losing weight. We’ll offer a variety of training selections. A Wellness Coach will provide instruction on a strength training program and also follow your progress, offering advice and motivation. During weeks 8, 9 & 10, your Wellness Coach will assist you by adding specialty exercises to your current strength program to create depth and variety in your program. Each participant will receive a Body Composition Analysis at the beginning and the end of the program to see the proven results of their dedication.

Rise N Shine Yoga
Start your day off right! This gentle yoga class will get you going in the right direction. We will incorporate breath work along with stretching and strengthening poses. Adult2 1.09

Yoga for Beginners
Come and experience all the benefits yoga has to offer. Strengthening, toning, flexibility, body awareness, breathing, stress reduction and more! This class will focus on basic yoga poses and breathing. Adult2 1.09

Hatha Yoga
Ease muscle strain, promote physical strength and vitality, revitalize mental capacities and balance your emotional state of being. It is recommended that you bring a towel, small blanket or mat for floor exercises. No drop-ins. Adult2 1.09

Yoga for Athletes
Work on breathing technique, increase core strength, focus, flexibility, balance and more! Athletes of all abilities or anyone interested in trying yoga can benefit from this class. Adult2 1.09

Yoga/Pilates @ Lunch
Get the best of both worlds! Come and experience all the benefits of yoga and pilates: strengthening, toning, flexibility, body awareness, posture improvement, breathing, stress reduction and more. We will focus on Yoga on Mondays and Pilates on Wednesdays. Adult2 1.09

Prenatal Yoga
Yoga keeps you limber, tones your muscles, improves your balance and circulation. Yoga is also beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe deeply and relax, which is beneficial as you face the physical demands of labor, birth and motherhood! Adult2 1.09

Parent Plus 1 Yoga
Yoga for kids is a time of building strength, concentration and imagination. From silly wild dances to deep breathing and drumming, this class teaches a life-long practice and discipline. For one adult, one child. We also offer Parent Plus 1 Yoga for parents and children ages 5 to 12. Strengthen family bonds and create togetherness with the yoga practice that’s specially designed for the entire family to benefit from and enjoy. Adult2 1.09

Boot Camp
Are you ready for a challenge? We guarantee you will be in better shape when you are done than when you started. Bring workout mat or towel and running shoes. Adult2 1.09

Brick Training
Brick training is specifically designed to help cyclists and runners become more proficient in each element. Emphasis is given on building speed and endurance with drills to improve transition between running and cycling. Perfect for the athlete looking to improve his/her performance. Sign up for Tri Swim, too (see p.16)! Adult2 1.09

Zumba
Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves that allow participants to dance away their worries. Zumba is great for the body and for the mind. Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes. Adult2 1.09

Pilates
The beginner mat class consists of Pilates-based stretching and strengthening exercises for the body’s core muscles. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility, balance, unites mind and body and creates a streamlined shape. The power classes uses various props to challenge core muscles in multi-level planes. Classes may employ hand weights, bands, stability balls and balance balls. Adult2 1.09

Belly Dancing
The graceful hip drops, rolls and pivots in this dance form utilize muscle groups in the abdomen, pelvis, trunk, spine and neck. It improves posture, muscle tone, flexibility, weight loss and is a great stress-reducer. And, it’s a lot of fun! Adult2 1.09

Unlimited Cycling!
Choose any or all classes to ride, one fee covers them all. Contact the Wellness Center desk to reserve a bike for the classes you wish to attend. Adult2 1.09

FREE FOR MEMBERS
Body Sculpt
Burn calories and boost your metabolism with this class that works specifically on muscular strength development from head to toe. Use of handweights and other resistance methods will help to isolate and strengthen all major muscle groups. Adult2 1.09

Studio Pump
This is a barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you want. (Maximum 20 participants.) Adult2 1.09

Cardio Sculpt
Meet all of your fitness goals. Beginner and advanced participants will burn fat and firm up problem areas. Classes consist of approximately 30 minutes of cardio- vascular workout plus muscular toning and flexibility. Adult2 1.09

Stepin’ Up High-Intensity
Experience the intensity of stepping with weights and high-intensity strength training. Adult2 1.09

10-10-10
In this 45-minute class, there will be a warm up followed by a new type of exercise,
introduced every 10 minutes, and then a cool down. Exercise may include step, body sculpting, core work, cardio kick, etc. Adult2 1.09

Ballroom & Latin Dancing
Every person is a potential dancer! Learn to dance like the celebrities on “Dancing with the Stars.” Dance with us in a fun, relaxed environment. Classes are for everyone - young and old, male and female. Dance styles will include: Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Cha-Cha, Tango, Salsa and Rumba. Adult2 1.09

Line Dancing
Line dancing is probably the most socially rewarding experience you can have! It’s all about lots of like-minded people getting together to have fun and learn dances - a gentle, social exercise. Line dancers often say it’s the best fun you can have. Adult2 1.09

Set goals, achieve goals! Whether you are looking for extra guidance and safety to begin a program or you need the extra challenge to get the results you want, a YMCA personal trainer is the way to go! We also offer small group training, ask for details.

Specialty Training
Certified instructors will lead individuals or small groups of 2-8 through a specialty class of your choice. Specialty areas include: Yoga, Pilates, Circuit Training, Hard Core, Group Cycling and more. Schedule to fit your needs! Ask for details!

YMCA Physical Fitness Assessments
Your heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, cardio-vascular fitness, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility levels will be assessed by a certified Fitness Specialist. A complete Physical Fitness Evaluation Profile and Body Composition Profile are provided upon completion. By appointment only.

Body Composition Analysis
Have your body composition tested with our new state-of-the-art analyzer. Within minutes you will receive a print out with your percent body fat, lean body weight and fat weight. This analysis is easy, non-invasive and informative. By appointment only.

Massage Therapy

MSROM (formerly SilverSneakers I)
MSROM (muscular strength, range of motion) offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming. This is a chair-based class designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. Adult2 1.09

Active for Life Fitness
This class is specifically geared to those over 50 and would also benefit beginning exercisers. Class consists of low impact aerobics, muscle toning, coordination exercises and flexibility stretches. Adult2 1.09
