Advocate of the Year Award 2021

Daisy Moran received the Advocate of the Year Award 2021presented by the IL IA Center for Independent Living, on behalf of the Two Rivers YMCA
Daisy Moran received the Advocate of the Year Award from the Illinois/Iowa Center for Independent Living for her continued efforts in assuring that the Two Rivers YMCA provides diverse and accessible programming for People with Disabilities. Our organization's efforts include ensuring that persons with disabilities are served in our programs, our youth mentoring program Y-solutions volunteer their efforts in helping with IICIL Annual Holiday Carnival, supporting ADA Celebration, and sponsorship in providing meals to Persons with disabilities in the IICIL service area. 
 
 
Hunger Relief Grant:
50 YMCAs across the nation were selected to participate in the Hunger Relief grant from YMCA of the USA, the national resource office for the nation's YMCAs. Our Nourish program has begun partnering with local organizations to serve hot meals to the diverse abilities, refugee/immigrant community, and underserved populations here in the Quad Cities. Each month, Nourish sets up bi-weekly to serve the community in this way.
