We are happy to announce that the Two Rivers YMCA Summer Day Camp will start June 15, 2020!

We have spent a lot of time working on innovative ways to provide a great summer experience for your children while making sure we keep all kiddos and staff at the Y safe and healthy.

CHECKING IN & OUT: One of our social distancing safety measures will involve sign in and out procedures. Please pull up to the doors at the Spirit, Mind & Body Center (1811 53 rd Street, Moline) each day and remain in your car. A Y staff member will come to your car and assist with checking your kids in and out.

IMPORTANT! The water fountains at the YMCA will not be accessible as mandated by the governor. However, we do have bottle filling stations available so please
send a refillable water bottle with your child’s name on it each day. Summer days can get very hot and we want to keep everyone hydrated!

LUNCH: Will still be provided by our Nourish Food Program like last year. Menus will be posted on our website so you can see what will be served each day.

WHAT ELSE TO BRING: Please, if you are able, send a bottle of sunscreen and bug spray to keep at the Y so your child is protected from those summertime burns and bites.

As a reminder, here are some changes you will see this summer:

  • Limited capacity and smaller group sizes. We will maintain social distancing by keeping our groups smaller than ever before.
  • Outdoor activities: Okay, this one is still kind of the same. We spent a lot of time outdoors in summers past. But now we will do it with intention and make sure everyone is getting fresh air whenever possible!
  • On-campus field trips and virtual sessions. The CDC is recommending no off-site field trips. We will be creative and work on some new ways to engage these young minds while staying here, on our campus.
  • Staying dry. Health guidelines are telling us we cannot offer swimming. We know this is a fun and exciting part of camp for the kids. We love swimming too! Know that we continue to monitor all guidelines and are doing our best to provide the safest environment possible for everyone!

Until Summer Camp starts, we are still providing Essential Child Care for essential workers in our community. We continue to run this program with groups of 10 people or less to account for social distancing, take temperatures of all program staff and participants as they arrive each day, and require hand washing throughout the day.

We are excited to see your kiddos this summer. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we are navigating new regulations and finding ways to still be there for our Y community!
