School Age Care

YMCA School Age Care

Two Rivers YMCA School-Age Care programs provide a nurturing environment and emphasize the development of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all of our young participants.

Before and after school care is offered to children in grades K-6th in Illinois Quad Cities schools. School’s Out Club is a child care program held at the YMCA on those days school is not in session.

Conveniently located at your school, the Y’s School Age Care Program is full of excitement and challenges. Staff members plan each day with new and exciting activities which develop spirit, mind and body. Our goal is for each child to feel successful about his/her accomplishments. The staff plan special themes designed to add different activities and challenges each week.

The goals of the program are:

  • to provide quality care for children
  • to support the needs of the family unit
  • to help children develop to their fullest potential
  • to assist with academic achievement
  • to foster fitness and physical skills
  • to deliver the program in a positive YMCA environment of safety, support, and care
  • to offer activities that encourage confidence and feelings of self-worth
  • to provide the children with an environment which promotes the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility
  • to promote the 40 Developmental Assets
  • to provide the children with nutritional snacks

School Age Child Care is offered at the following sites:

School’s Out Club

Looking for a place to take your child when school is out for the day (due to intercession, institute day, holiday, seasonal break, etc.)? The YMCA School’s Out Club provides children with fun, safe, supervised activities. Our staff will keep your children busy with sports, arts, crafts, games, swimming and movies. An afternoon snack and lunch is provided through Nourish, a youth nutrition collaborative. Students should bring a swim suit and towel. This program is offered on emergency days when school is cancelled due to inclement weather for Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island Schools. We also offer a half day program at the school sites when school is dismissed early. (However, if a school is dismissed early due to weather or an emergency there will be no after school care. If a school announces a late start due to weather or an emergency, there will be no before school care.)
