Director of Youth Achievement & Community Engagement
Daisy is responsible for youth mentoring programs including Y-Winners, Y-Solutions, Youth Leadership Academy, Youth & Government, & Youth Leadership Council. She provides leadership to the strategic Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Engagement Innovation, ensuring to effectively engage, connect, advocate for all segments of society to have access to and can thrive at Two Rivers YMCA. Daisy is also a presenter and trainer for YMCA of the USA, the national resource office for the nation's YMCAs. Teaching Diversity, Inclusion, & Global engagement in Immigrant Youth Development, Hunger Relief, Societal systems change.
Daisy received her Associate in Science at Black Hawk College in Moline & Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. During her time on campus, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Greece researching refugee migration. Daisy worked on campus at La Casa Cultural Latina where she coordinated Latinx Resilience Network workshops to teach Latinx students about mental health, coping mechanisms, & self-care.
In addition to the work Daisy does within the walls of our Y, she is also impacting her community through her volunteer work at LULAC #5285, The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Mercado on the Fifth, Quad Cities Community Foundation, Quad Cities Youth Conference, University of Illinois Latina/Latino Alumni Association & Alpha Psi Lambda National, Inc.
