Learn to Row

Rowing is a sport like no other, a true challenge to the mind and body. At its best, rowing is all about individuals working in perfect rhythm to make their boat move amazingly fast. Over a period of five weeks, the experienced coaches of Y Quad Cities Rowing will provide you with an introduction to all aspects of rowing.

Learn-to-Row classes are held several times a year and open to anyone in the community. During the five-week session, you will learn sweep rowing, boat handling and safety, rowing vocabulary, good general exercise practices and, of course, how to row on the Mighty Mississippi!

Adaptive Rowing

Adaptive Rowing is for individuals with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. The equipment is adapted to allow a person with a disability to row.

Adaptive sessions begin with rowing techniques on an ergometer (rowing machine) and progress to rowing on the water once proper technique and safety skills have been learned. Basic adaptive equipment includes a fixed seat on the erg or boat and transfer boxes to assist with transfers to and from a wheelchair. Corporate Row Teambuilding

Each individual in a boat is vital to the direction of the team and the balance of the boat. Ultimately, success is achieved through teamwork and patience. Rowing can be done by virtually anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. A rowing adventure can benefit your team through exercise, social interaction and a delightful waterfront atmosphere. The synergy developed through this rowing experience will benefit your company, association, organization or alumni group in ways you didn’t know were possible!
