Group Exercise

 

Group Exercise Classes

Free with membership, our land-based group exercise classes offer a variety of options for fun and fitness. From relaxing stretching and strengthening to heart-pounding cardio action, you can find a class that makes exercise anything but routine. 

All classes are open to ages 13 years and older. Ages 8-12 who have passed a Youth Wellness Orientation may participate at the discretion of the instructor.

STRENGTH

Strength will blast all members’ muscles with a high-rep weight training workout. Using an adjustable barbell, weight plates and Body weight, this workout combines squats, lunges, presses and curls, with functional integrated exercises.

STUDIO STRENGTH & CARDIO

Combine the total body muscle strengthening and toning of strength with cardiovascular intervals.  Increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance while having fun!  This highly effective class will get your heart pumping while toning muscles.

TABATA INTERVAL TRAINING

Tabata interval training is the most effective type of high intensity interval training. Through a variety of simple, yet intense exercises, each class will blast the calories and provide noticeable results in a short amount of time. Whether your goal is muscle tone, weight loss, or both, this class will provide what you are looking for.

CYCLE

Build strength, improve cardiovascular endurance and burn calories in this athletic workout. Our fitness instructors will challenge you with multi-level and intense intervals on Stages cycling bikes.

SILVER SNEAKERS

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

YOGA

Experience a combination of postures sometimes moving with the breath, sometimes longer holds to deepen concentration, balance, strength and flexibility.

  • Inform your physician that you plan to join the program
  • Give permission for LIVESTRONG at the YMCA staff to contact your physician or health care provider as needed.

 

Body In Motion - Ropes

BODY IN MOTION

Our Body in Motion class helps adults of all ages with Parkinson’s or other chronic diseases that affect balance, in order to maintain an active lifestyle while focusing on cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility.

RECLAIM

Reclaim is a preventative cardiac rehab program designed to enhance the quality of life for people who are looking to improve overall cardiovascular health. Trained exercises specialists monitor and assist in program design and take beginning and ending blood pressure.

Utilizes fitness centers and MultiPurpose Room

This 6 week program is designed to help people seeking a healthier weight achieve their goals by making small, modest changes to their daily behaviors. If you are looking to lose weight, have type 2 diabetes, or prediabetes this program provides tools, knowledge and group support to help you develop a nutrition and exercise plan that works for you!

Partner up with a friend, spouse, parent or child for better success! (Price is per person)
Group Training
Motivate yourself and others when you work out with friends in a small group personal training session. Certified Personal Trainers work with your small group using positive motivation to help you achieve specific fitness goals. A personal trainer assesses current fitness levels, discusses what you want to achieve, organizes smaller goals that are specific and realistic, and tracks your progress. Small group training can be more cost effective with a group of 3 to 4 individuals.

Fit and Fuel
Fit and Fuel is a program specifically designed to help you reach your health and wellness goals with the convenience of training in your own home, gym, or other personal space. We specialize in improving fitness as well as body composition, physical training, nutritional changes, and improvements in your thinking to help you reach your goals.We teach you how to eat right and exercise correctly, along with helping you understand the various aspects of fitness, from nutrition to mobility. We believe in training the mind and body as a whole!
Youth Health and Fitness
Empowering children and families through education, healthy eating and physical activity. The program is geared toward the whole family, engaging children and adults in nutrition education and physical activity to elicit positive change and to help families learn skills to live a healthier lifestyle long-term.
