Alyssa Gordon manages the tumbling, dance, and cheer programs at the Moline-East Moline YMCA. Originally from North Carolina, Alyssa now calls the Quad Cities home where she has taught and choreographed throughout the cities, with a goal of creating positive, welcoming spaces and connecting with others in meaningful ways.
Alyssa holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she focused on modern dance and ballet. She prioritizes safety, artistry, and proper technique when it pertains to tumbling, dance, and cheer. Prior to joining YMCA in 2026, Alyssa has worked in early childhood education, elementary education, and ran a dance business turned nonprofit organization.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys time with her loved ones, getting out in nature, writing, finding new food spots, and serving her community. In addition to her role as the Director of Tumbling and Performing Arts, Alyssa also sits on the Clean River Advisory Council (C-RAC). She values community, growth, and bringing a supportive, uplifting energy wherever she goes.
