Summer Meal Program

Nourish Youth Nutrition Collaborative

From Monday, June 8 through Friday, August 21, 2020 the Two Rivers YMCA's Nourish Youth Nutrition Collaborative has provided free take-home meals for the children in our area.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 am - noon, families could pick up 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches for each child in their home.

Pick up locations:

  • the Y's Spirit, Mind, & Body Center (1811 53rd Street Moline)
  • and the Boys & Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley (406 7th Street Moline).

Thanks to the USDA Farm to Family Food Box Program on Wednesdays 1 box of produce per family were also available to be picked up (subject to availability) along with the 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches per child!

All in all, over 10,000 meals and $15,000 worth of produce boxes were given to local families!

Nourish Youth Nutrition Collaborative is a food program administered by the Two Rivers YMCA but would not be possible without collaborations with other community organizations.

We want to give a huge thank you and acknowledge the great work our school districts have done with meals when the COVID-19 pandemic began and schools were closed. As well as the local organizations that collaborate together with the Nourish Program. Together we are combating food insecurity in our community.

If your family is still in need of meals please see your school district as they will be resuming their meal programs with the start of the school year.
