Mike Wennekamp

Chief Executive Officer

Mike Wennekamp has been the CEO of Two Rivers YMCA since 2013, serving the Quad City region with three branches and nearly 40 other program locations throughout Rock Island County, Illinois.  Mike has an extensive history with the Y and has been a leader in program innovation and growth. He has developed resources through volunteer-led fundraising, grants and sponsorships and has significant experience in strategic planning, staff and volunteer leadership and community partnerships. 

Mike turned a summer internship at the Y into his life's work. Before arriving at Two Rivers in 2004 as COO, he also held a management position with the YMCA in Schaumburg, Illinois and a program director position in Marion, Iowa.  Earlier in his career, Mike was awarded the Association of YMCA Professionals Director of the Year and named a Quad Cities Area Leader Under 40. 

Mike and his family believe strongly in social responsibility.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for First Tee of the Quad Cities, Quad City Health Initiative, Unity Point Health-Trinity Foundation, Moline’s Bass Street Landing SSA #5 and the Illinois Alliance of YMCAs.  He is also a past president of Moline Kiwanis and an active volunteer in his family’s sports and extracurricular activities.
