Jennifer Buckwalter

Wellness Director

Jennifer began her journey with the Y in 2012. She acquired certifications in Group Exercise including Les Mills and Silver Sneakers as well as group facilitation from Livestrong at the YMCA and the American Parkinson’s Disease Association. Jennifer holds a Lifestyle Weight Management Specialist certification from the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Exercise Trainers Association. Jennifer was awarded an American Business Women’s Scholarship and attended Blackhawk College where she earned an Associate Arts Degree in Social Services. Her experience as a Direct Services Advocate responding to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and mental health crisis was her calling to public health awareness. Further community efforts involved coordinating fundraising events for the American Cancer Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Children’s Miracle Network, and The American Heart Association. While co-organizing allied health conventions, doctorate level student recruitment events and health fairs, Jennifer learned the importance of far reaching activism.

Jennifer and her husband enjoy coaching youth sports and are involved in their children’s extracurricular and academic activities. Jennifer values family dinners and movie night, trail hiking, biking, and reading pretty much anything. She is passionate about healthy living through integrative health and nurturing relationships.
